Charlotte’s Web
Charlotte’s Web (OTCMKTS: CWBHF) is a cannabis company that aims to change the stigma associated with legal medical cannabis use across the United States. They developed their namesake strand of CBD (a non-psychoactive cannabis extract) which drastically reduced seizures for many pediatric epilepsy patients.
All of Charlotte’s Web products contain less than 0.3% THC, the psychoactive ingredient in cannabis that causes the “getting high” feeling. This is a differential yet important factor since CDB is legal on a federal level in the United States as opposed to THC.
Charlotte’s Web has been cash-flow negative and has had a lot of management turnover (with even a brand new CEO). Yet, within her first two months on the job, CEO Deanie Eisner, with her experience as chief marketing officer at Kraft Foods, landed a new massive deal with grocery giant Kroger. This means that the company now has more than doubled its retail distribution.
Ultimately, Charlotte’s Web is a company that is actively and scientifically helping save lives.
