CBD and Drug Tests
If you’re using pure CBD, you should be able to pass the standard drug test. However not all CBD products are accurately stating how much THC is in their product which may cause you to fail your drug test.
As CBD and THC are closely linked, and because THC is still illegal on the Federal level, it is understandable to be concerned whether taking CBD will cause you to fail a drug test.
On a technical level, the main drug testing processes are not testing for CBD, but a chemical created by the body after it interacts with THC
So, if you’re using pure CBD, you should be able to pass a standard drug test.
That said, there is still the potential that you may not. This is because some CBD products may be inaccurately stating how much THC is actually in their product. Even if there is a small amount of THC in the CBD product you use, there’s a chance that over time, THC may build up in your system, causing you to fail a drug test. Put simply, using CBD should not cause you to fail a drug test. But there’s a chance it might even if the product is marketed as not containing any THC. If you’re unsure, give your product a quick Google or give yourself a self-administered drug test.
